2021/22 Seniors

Senior Football Players:

#1 – Ayden Edwards RB

Ayden has played football for 7 years. His favorite football memory is beating our rival, Falmouth, last year. He is looking forward to taking the field with the team for one last season. After high school, he plans to go to college and study criminal justice. Ayden was a player mentioned by the New England Football Journal as a reason for Barnstable’s #23 ranking. Ayden would like to thank his high school coaches, Silver Bullets coaches, and family.

#2- Gibson Guimond RB (captain)

This is Gibson’s 8th year playing Barnstable football. He is a member of the Barnstable High School National Honor Society and the baseball team.  During the 2020-2021 season, he received an honorable mention to the Cape and Islands All Star team, and has been named by the Cape Cod Times and the Boston Herald as a “player to watch.” Gibson was a player mentioned by the New England Football Journal as a reason for Barnstable’s #23 ranking. His favorite football memory was the win over Falmouth during his freshman year. He is looking forward to “putting on a show with this group one last season.” After graduation, he plans to attend a four year college to study business. Gibson would like to thank his parents and coaches for their support.

#3/ #74-Aidan Canty DT/OL (captain)

Aidan is entering his 5th season at Barnstable High School after playing 2 years of Silver Bullets. Aidan’s favorite memory while playing football was watching the senior class of 2020 beat Falmouth at their home field. Aidan was listed as a “player to watch” by the Boston Herald and the Cape Cod Times. Additionally, he was a player mentioned by the New England Football Journal as a reason for Barnstable’s #23 ranking. After high school, Aidan plans on attending a four year college to study Business and possibly continue to play football. In addition to football, Aidan works at Crisp Flatbread. Aidan wants to thank all of his family, friends, and coaches for being by his side through the thick and thin. He also wants to thank all of his teammates over the years who have pushed him to be better everyday.

#4 – Patrick O’Neill DE/LB/TE (captain)

Patrick has played football for 8 years, and has been a varsity starter for four years. During that time, he has been chosen twice as a member of the Cape and Islands All-Star team. He is on the current Boston Herald “Dandy Dozen” list of the top high school players in Division 1 or 2, and is a player to watch according to the Cape Cod Times. Patrick was a player mentioned by the New England Football Journal as a reason for Barnstable’s #23 ranking. His favorite football memory was beating Falmouth during a tropical storm. He is looking forward to enjoying every moment as a senior! In addition to football, Pat is a member of the track team and the National Honor Society. He has committed to Division 1 Brown University to play football. Patrick would like to thank his parents, all of his football coaches over the years, and his teammates.

#5 – Colby Myrbeck DL

Colby has played football for 9 years and is starting his 4th year as a Red Hawk. Colby was a player mentioned by the New England Football Journal as a reason for Barnstable’s #23 ranking. His biggest accomplishment on the field was contributing to the undefeated varsity team as a junior. His favorite football memory was the atmosphere after the Xaverian win. He is excited to take the field with this year’s group. In addition to football, Colby plays hockey and golf. Colby plans to study computer science in college, and hopefully continue his football career. He has received offers from colleges including Worcester State University. Colby would like to thank his mom, dad, twin sisters, and coaches.

#6- Adam Laber LB/RB

Adam has played football for ten years: six years in the Barnstable Silver Bullets youth program and four years at Barnstable High School, where he received a varsity letter as a sophomore. His favorite football memory was last season’s Falmouth game, because Barnstable won so decisively and he got to play football with his brother. Adam is looking forward to playing under the lights with a big crowd this year. In addition to football, Adam served as class president for 2 years and is a varsity lacrosse player. Adam has committed to Salve Regina University to play lacrosse and study business. He would like to thank his family, friends, and coaches for their support along the way.

#7 – Alec Joyce LB

Alec has played football for 10 years. This will be his 4th year playing football for BHS after 6 years with the Silver Bullets. Alec is a member of the BHS National Honors Society and the Barnstable baseball team, and volunteers with Silver Bullets. His favorite football memory is when he scored his first touchdown freshman year. Alec is looking forward to playing on Friday nights with fans back in the stands. Alec plans on studying Criminal Justice after high school. He would like to thank his family for their endless support, Coach Jatkola and the rest of the coaching staff and all of the coaches that have helped him along the way.

#8 – Ashbery Cheron LB

Ashbery has been on the football team throughout his high school career. He had so much fun playing it freshman year that he kept playing. He says that being on the team is a stress reliever! His favorite memories of football are the practices because everyone is so competitive! Everyone tried their best to beat the opposing teams. After high school, he plans to go to a decent college to study mechanical engineering. He would like to thank his parents, brother, and coaches.

#9 – Jacob Nikas QB

Jacob starting playing football during his freshman year of high school and this is his fourth year as a Red Hawk. Jacob is also a member of the BHS National Honors Society, and volunteers with Silver Bullets youth football. By far his favorite memory is beating Falmouth two years ago on Thanksgiving. He’s looking forward to playing a “real” season again with fans and hopes that the team makes a run into the post-season. Jacob is grateful for opportunities football has given him and the people he has met that he now considers “his family.” After high school, he plans to study engineering at a four year university. Jacob would like to thank his family and coaches.

#10 – Colin Fay TE/DL (captain)

Colin is beginning his 4th year of Barnstable football, having started at a freshman. Colin was inducted this past year into the National Honor Society, and volunteers to help the Silver Bullets youth program. His favorite football memory was beating Falmouth by a comfortable margin during his junior season. Colin is looking forward to having a great season with his friends and is eager to take the field under the lights again. Colin intends on attending a 4 year college to study business following his graduation in the spring. He would like to thank his mom, dad, and sister for their support.

#11 – Nolan Turner LB

Nolan has played football for the town of Barnstable for 9 years. His favorite football memory was going to the Super Bowl with a group of his best friends during his last year of Silver Bullets. He is looking forward to being able to play alongside the same group of guys during his senior year that he did when he first stepped on a football field. Besides football, Nolan plays basketball and baseball at BHS. His plans after high school are to attend a 4 year college to study business management. He would like to thank his mom, dad, and brothers for their support.

#13 – Josh Stanley DB

Josh is entering his tenth year of playing football in Barnstable. In addition to football, Josh is the captain of the BHS wrestling team, a member of the National Honor Society, and a volunteer at Silver Bullets.  His favorite football memories came during his junior year when he got to play in the Friday night games.  He is looking forward to one last year of playing with the same group that he has played with since elementary school. After high school, he plans to study mechanical engineering and join a Naval ROTC program at a four year university. Eventually, he would like to go to medical school to become a doctor. Josh would like to thank his family, coaches, and teammates for their support.

#15 – Alex Fontaine RB

Alex has been playing Barnstable football for 8 years. His favorite memory was beating Falmouth last year. In addition to football, Alex is a member of the wrestling and baseball teams. After graduation, he plans to go to college to study business. He would like to thank his friends, family, coaches, and teammates.

#20 – Shawn Haislet K

This is Shawn’s second year of playing football, after being picked up from the soccer team for his kicking skills. His favorite accomplishment on the field was being able to kick in a varsity game during his first season on the team. His best memory was hearing his name called on the load speaker under the Friday night lights. In addition to football, Shawn participates in swimming and volleyball. After graduation, Shawn would like to study engineering in college. Shawn would like to thank his mom and step-dad for their support.

#21 – Grayson Pina LB

Grayson is entering his 4th year of playing Barnstable High School football after 5 years of Silver Bullets. His favorite football memory was beating Falmouth on Thanksgiving weekend during his freshman year. In addition to football, Grayson plays baseball for BHS. After high school, he plans to attend college and get a masters degree in business. Grayson would like to thank his parents, siblings and coaches for their support of his football career.

#34 – Eugene Jordan RB (captain)

This is Eugene’s tenth season playing Barnstable football. During his football career, he has won two Cape and Islands All Star awards and was voted the league MVP last season. He has been named as a “player to watch” by the Cape Cod Times and the Boston Herald. Additionally, Eugene was a player mentioned by the New England Football Journal as a reason for Barnstable’s #23 ranking. Eugene is a member of the track team and the National Honor Society, and volunteers with the Silver Bullets youth teams.  His favorite football memory is the lift competition the team had before the season started. Eugene is looking forward to proving himself by preforming well against some tough teams. He plans to continue playing football in college at a school that will challenge him academically, as well as athletically. Eugene would like to thank his parents, his Silver Bullets coaches, and his high school coaches.

#56- Bryan Silva OL/DL

Bryan has been playing football in Barnstable for 6 years. He has many great football memories, but one that stands out is when he got to play on the varsity team for the Thanksgiving game during his freshman year. After high school, he plans to go to automotive school to become a mechanic. Bryan would like to thank his mom, dad, brother, coaches, and teammates.

#57- Kyle Hicks OL/DL

Kyle has been playing football for 10 years in and out of Barnstable. His favorite football memory was playing Pop Warner football with his cousins and uncles when his team made it to the championship and won. His biggest accomplishment was playing for the the Blackstone Valley 12u all-star team and placing second in the country at a championship in Florida. This year, he’s looking forward to having fun playing in his last year of football. After school he plans to become an entrepreneur and investor.

#60- Rohan Edwards OL

This is Rohan’s second season playing football. His favorite football memory was the last game of the season last year against Falmouth. Everyone was very excited to celebrate Barnstable’s win! In addition to football, Rohan is a member of the wrestling team at BHS. After high school he plans to study emergency management in college and to possibly continue playing football. Rohan would like to thank his family and coaches.

#68- Patrick “Patty” Jones OL/DL

“Patty” has played football for 8 years in Barnstable. His favorite football accomplishments were attending the Super Bowl during his midget year in Silver Bullets and having one of the best freshman records. His favorite football memory was playing so hard during a game in his freshman year that he got sick on the bus ride home. The team was so excited that they played a song on the bus that the other team had played to “diss” Barnstable. Pat is looking forward to the first game this season and to a successful senior year of classes. After high school, Pat plans to go to college to be a Nurse Practitioner. In addition to football, Pat works at Aeropostale. He would like to thank his parents and coaches for their support.

#77- Lucas Borges OL

Lucas has played Barnstable football since the fourth grade. In addition to football, Lucas is a member of the National Honor Society and volunteers to help with the Silver Bullets youth teams. His favorite football memory was when the Peewee Silver Bullets won the Super Bowl in 2013. Silver Bullets is definitely the most fun he had in all of his years of playing. Lucas is looking forward to seeing this year’s team reach its potential. It’ll be a tough season, but there’s no team he would rather play with. After high school graduation,  Lucas plans to major in criminal justice, as well as continue to play football. He has offers from Anna Maria College and Worcester State, among other schools, for a roster spot on the football team. Lucas would like to thank his mom, dad, God, and his coaches.

Senior Cheerleaders:

Caline Halbert (captain)

Caline has been cheering for 10 years. Currently, she is a base but was a flyer for 6 years. Her favorite cheer memory was the first youth night game with her sisters. After high school, Caline would like to attend Worcester State University. She would like to thank her parents for bringing her to and from practices and for supporting her through all her years of cheer.
