Bryan Hardy, Barnstable High School Red Raider alumni from the Class of 2012, was named Football Player of the Week in the Northeastern-10 Conference, the second time he was awarded the distinction.

Hardy, an inside linebacker for the Bentley College Falcons, was honored along with Special Teams punter Tyler Ford, for outstanding play in last Saturday’s football game win over American International College. Bentley College’s leading tackler for the last two football seasons, Hardy has 59 stops so far this season. Last year, he finished the season with a whopping 103 tackles.

Bryan Hardy is the son of Donna DaRosa Hardy and Chris Hardy of Barnstable.

Barnstable High School football and lacrosse coach Matthew Bentivegna was honored during halftime at last Friday night’s football match-up between the Red Raiders and the Bridgwater-Raynham Trojans. Inducted into the 2015 United States Marines “Great American Rivalry” Hall of Fame, Coach Bentivegna was recognized for his longstanding and highly valued contributions to the Barnstable High School football program.

Coach Bentivegna began his participation in the BHS Red Raider football program as a sophomore in 2007, named Team Manager. In 2009, he became the first Barnstable High School student voted by his peers unanimously to be Captain of the football team. Well known and highly respected for his knowledge of the game, perseverance, team leadership skills and undying Red Raider spirit, upon graduation from high school, the prior popular Team Manager was appointed to the football team coaching staff.

Senior Captain Jack Pipatti

Senior Barnstable High School Football Captain Jack Pipatti was honored prior to kickoff at last Friday night’s football match-up between the Red Raiders and the Bridgwater-Raynham Trojans.

Captian Jack Pipatti was honored with an award and scholarship by the United States Marine Corps for earning the highest grade point average of all senior football players at Barnstable High School. He is currently ranked #2 in the BHS Class of 2016.

There will be a team dinner for all senior football players Thursday, October 15th, after practice hosted by the Ford Family at their home, 512 South Main St., Centerville.

The Fords request the players “car pool” either from the high school or 4C’s Ice Cream as parking near their home is limited.
