Barnstable Red Raider “Players of the Game” for the phenomenal Varsity October 13th match-up of Barnstable vs. Bridgewater-Rayhnam have been announced by MAXPREPS.

Overall Player of the Game: #8 SAM ROSEN, Wide Receiver/ Defensive Back 

“Sam Rosen proved yet again how invaluable he is to the Red Raider cause as he totaled 101 yards on kickoff returns and added 109 yards on 6 receptions while scoring a critical two-point conversion that tied the game at 26-26 in the 4th quarter. Rosen also defended a pair of passes, blocked a B-R field goal attempt and totaled 2 tackles in a superlative effort.”

Offensive Player of the Game: #9 RYAN WELSH, Running Back/ Defensive Back

“Welsh not only carried the ball 28 times for 68 yards, but he caught two Matt Petercuskie passes including a 70-yard touchdown strike. He added a 9-yard rush into paydirt and proved the workhorse of the BHS offensive scheme.”

Defensive Player of the Game: #58 JOSHUA VON STAATS, Middle Linebacker/ Guard

“This game was clearly Von Staats’ best overall career performance against a lightning-quick B-R offense. Von Staats totaled 13 tackles on the night including 9 solo stops and earned him the top Red Raider in Barnstable’s best-played game yet.”

“Michael Turner’s 53-yard interception return from the B-R goal line may have been a defensive gem, but his efforts and leadership throughout the night proved deserving of accolades.”

Volunteers Needed for Red Raiders vs. Dartmouth Varsity Game of October 20th

 

The Barnstable High School Red Raiders versus Dartmouth High School Indians home game of October 20th is also Teacher Appreciation Night and Senior Night. Consequently, we expect a great turn-out and thus are in dire need of volunteers to work Concessions. Please consider lending a hand!

Volunteers at Concessions work in short shifts of 2 1/2 hours or less (unless you are interested in volunteering for multiple shifts). We suggest volunteering for games your student-athlete is not playing or cheering at, varsity parents at JV/Freshmen games, for example.

“Zeb Tilton handled punt and kickoff returns as well as kickoffs in a yeoman’s effort in this key victory but also had one solo tackle as well as 45 yards receiving with a beautiful 40-yard reception in the early going.”

“Rookie running back Anthony Arzimut carried the ball 22 times in his first career start and tallied 92 yards on the ground in an impressive effort.”

“The third Dulak to suit up for the Red & White, Isaac turned in his best performance of the season as he totaled 10 tackles (five solo and five assisted) – his effort made a key difference in the outcome.”

“Matt Fredo totaled five total tackles on the evening but he saved his best for last making a game-saving stop on the goal line as Durfee attempted to go for the win with 2:11 left in the game on a two-point PAT conversion attempt.”

Hello Red Raider Families!!!

The Barnstable Quarterback Club has been supporting BHS Football since 1967. Our club’s mission is to provide our student-athletes with the best possible football and cheerleading experience.  We are off to a successful start in fulfilling our mission this year.  However, we still NEED YOUR HELP!!!

There are several ways to get involved with the Quarterback Club.  Please stop by our weekly meeting or visit the websites below for the most up to date information.  We are always looking for new ideas!!!
