Mission # 1 Accomplished: Red Raiders Erase All Doubt with 13-7 OT Win Over Top-Seeded Everett High

The Red Raiders are all smiles with Coach Whidden and Coach Willie Ford after downing the host Everett High Crimson Tide, 13-7

With Kevin Hardy’s end zone interception on the game’s final play, fans stormed the field.

Barnstable had just brought down the mighty Goliath in perennial powerhouse, the Everett Crimson Tide. The 13-7 overtime victory – marked by two touchdown receptions from Dylan Morris, one of the greatest catches ever displayed by Tedaro France and the most stoic, relentless defensive effort in over a decade – was celebrated by the Barnstable fans at midfield.

Barnstable, now 4-0, will more than likely assume the top rank in Eastern Mass when the polls come out Monday. It was a phenomenal, job well done. Superlative efforts were turned in by senior captain Andrew Ellis in one of the best games ever played by a BHS linebacker (reminiscent of high school All-American and BHS Hall of Famer Fran Fermino and 1995’s Mike Duffley), Derek Estes, Terrence Mudie, Ryan Litchman, Jason Frieh and on offense, Nick Peabody and Hayden Murphy (and of course, the fantabulous O-LINE).

Eight game to go.
