Barnstable Red Raider “Players of the Game” for the Varsity match-up of Barnstable vs. Duxbury have been announced by MAXPREPS.

Overall Player of the Game: #16 MATT PETERCUSKIE, Quarterback

“BHS Quarterback Matt Petercuskie went 23-36 passing for 266 yards and no interceptions while tossing two touchdowns and a pair of two-point conversions. He also rushed for 18 yards. It was the 13th best all-time single-game performance by a Barnstable High QB since the program’s inception in 1893.”

Offensive Player of the Game: #9 RYAN WELSH, Runningback

“Running back Ryan Welsh carried the ball 26 times for 94 yards and scored three touchdowns while adding a two-point conversion in perhaps his best career performance.”

Defensive Player of the Game: #8 SAM ROSEN, Wide Receiver/ Defensive Back

“Defensive back Sam Rosen could arguably have been the best player of the game but when it comes to defense he was without question the top-shelf performer with three interceptions while also scoring a touchdown and two-point conversion on offense. He added 4 solo tackles and a pass defensed.”

Special Teams Player of the Game: #3 CORY WARDWELL, Punter

“Punter Corey Wardwell continued to become more proficient and effective in the punting game with a stellar boot of 57 yards and three overall rock solid boots. He added a solo tackle on defense.”
