Head Coach Chris Whidden announced this week that former Barnstable Silver Bullet and stand-out Senior Wide Receiver and Defensive Back Samuel Rosen will serve as a Team Captain of the Barnstable High School Red Raiders Varsity football team.
An Old Colony League All-Star and 3-year letterman in football, Captain Samuel Rosen holds the Barnstable High School records for most yards receiving in a single game (302), most all-purpose yards in a single game (418), and most receptions in a single season (82). Sam also is tied for most touchdowns in a single game (5). He is only the second receiver in school history with 1000 total yards, with 1081 yards and Thanksgiving still to play. In addition to Sam’s stellar accomplishments in football, he also played Red Raider basketball for the last three seasons.
Beyond Captain Sam Rosen’s stellar leadership on the football field, his off-field leadership includes internships with Cape Wild Care and the YMCA. Sam is a solid athletic scholar who provides community service in a variety of forums. He is very well known and respected for his active mentoring of younger athletes.
Sam has two older siblings, Hale Cole-Tucker (BHS 1997) and Reed Cole-Tucker (BHS 2001). His very proud parents are Cynthia Cole and Isaac Rosen of Barnstable Village.
