Saturday’s JV Game versus the Dolphins @D-Y has been moved to Monomoy High School. The bus shall be departing B.H.S. at 9:45 AM. D-Y is allowing visitors to attend. Two spectators are allowed per player.
This week’s Varsity Game in D-Y has been moved to Thursday @5 PM. To prepare for the game the team has added a practice on Wednesday @3 PM.
Junior Running Back Eugene Jordan has been selected by the Boston Herald as one of their Stars of the Week for his performance in the team’s opener versus Nauset. Jordan amassed 106 yards rushing and scored 3 touchdowns in the 42-0 victory over the Warriors.
Barnstable travels to D-Y Friday to take on the Dolphins at 5 pm.
The New England Football Journal has released its pre-season rankings for the Fall II Season, and Barnstable has been ranked the #6 team in Division 2. The team is to start practicing on February 22nd. They are scheduled for a 6 game season against their Cape & Islands Big Rivals opening on March 19th. January 19, 2020 – Congratulations to the Barnstable Powerlifting Club for their strong showing at the 7th Annual St. John’s Classic. The event was held at St. John’s High School in Shrewsbury and was attended by a number of clubs from New England with 58 lifters in total. This was the inaugural event for the Barnstable Powerlifting Club and 5 of the 10 member team totaled enough weight to qualify for this year’s National Tournament in Texas.
The team won 9 medals on the day.
3 Gold Medals – Ayden Edwards (JV – 83 kilo), Colin Fay (JV – 93 kilo), and Brenden Dowling (Varsity – 120 kilo)
4 Silver Medals – Alec Joyce (JV – 66 kilo), Grayson Pina (JV – 74 kilo), CJ Joyce (Varsity – 74 kilo) and Alex Saladino (Varsity – 120+ kilo)
2 Bronze Medals – Jacob Nikas (JV – 74 kilo) and Owen Bright (Varsity – 105 kilo)
In addition to the weight class medals, Alex Saladino had the 2nd best squat of the day at 463 lbs, Brenden Dowling had the 3rd best bench of the day at 292 lbs and Ayden Edwards had the 3rd best squat in relation to body weight at 2.35 x body weight.

Your Red Raiders face a tough match-up in the Division II South Playoffs versus third-seeded King Phillips Regional High School this Friday. We need as many students and fans as possible at the game to support our team.
The Barnstable Quarterback Club has chartered a bus to take some fans to the game. The bus is open to all fans and seats shall be allotted on a first come basis. The bus is free to anyone wearing something RED, and $99 to anyone who is not. Kidding aside, the bus is free to everyone and donations are greatly appreciated. Information regarding the bus is below. We hope to see you there!
Sign-Up Information: The QBC shall maintain a sign-up sheet to ensure as many fans as possible can attend the game. There are 45 open spots on the bus and availability is first come first serve. Once all slots are filled a waiting list shall be created and if the demand is strong enough another bus may be chartered. To reserve your spot on the bus please email email@example.com with the names of the people in your group. A fan may sign-up up to 4 people (themselves +3) at a time. Please include the name along with an emergency contact number for each. The QBC shall confirm your seat on the bus through email and that confirmation email is required on Friday to get on the bus. If you have received a confirmation email and are no longer going to the game please let us know as soon as possible so we can make arrangements for people on the waiting list.
Bus Information: The bus shall pick-up and drop-off at the BHS gymnasium entrance. The bus shall leave from BHS at 5:15 pm. Only fans that have a confirmed sign-up email shall be allowed on the bus, and they must check in prior to getting on the bus to and from King Phillips. If a person on the sign-up sheet is not present at 5:05 pm they shall forfeit their seat to the next person on the wait list. Fans are not allowed to bring food, drinks or bags of any kind on the bus. The bus shall leave King Phillips 15 minutes after the game has concluded.
Game Tickets: Fans on the bus are responsible for purchasing their own tickets to the game once the bus arrives at the stadium. Tickets are $5 for students and parents. Senior citizens and students in grade 5 and under are free.

Sep 17, 2019 – Hyannis, MA. Barnstable High School Head Varsity Football Coach Ross Jatkola has been named the New England Patriots High School Coach of the Week for the team’s dominant victory over Braintree High School on Saturday.
New England Patriots Executive Director of Community Affairs and NFL Hall of Fame Member Andre Tippett presented the award and a $1,000 donation to the football program to Coach Jatkola at a ceremony in the main gymnasium attended by family, friends, staff, and football and cheer team members.
Due to the impending storm the JV & Freshmen games for Saturday have been cancelled. The Varsity game is still tomorrow at 6. We hope to see you there.

August 27, 2019 — Barnstable High School Head Varsity Football Coach Ross Jatkola announced today the names of the players who have been selected as Captains for the 2019 Red Raiders. The six seniors selected are; #5 TE/LB Harry Lanman, #8 QB/CB Nick Wilson, #10 TE/DE Colby Burke, #23 RB/LB Brian Frieh, #68 OL/DL Alex “Salad” Saladino and #73 OL/DL Declan Moriarty.
