Coach Ross Jatkola named Patriots High School Coach of the Week

Sep 17, 2019 – Hyannis, MA. Barnstable High School Head Varsity Football Coach Ross Jatkola has been named the New England Patriots High School Coach of the Week for the team’s dominant victory over Braintree High School on Saturday.
New England Patriots Executive Director of Community Affairs and NFL Hall of Fame Member Andre Tippett presented the award and a $1,000 donation to the football program to Coach Jatkola at a ceremony in the main gymnasium attended by family, friends, staff, and football and cheer team members.
Barnstable Beats up on Braintree 44-0! Frieh recognized by Boston Media!
On Saturday, the Red Raiders defeated the Braintree Wamps 44-0. Barnstable is now ranked #10 in the state by the Boston Globe!

In addition, Senior Captain Brian Frieh, has been named as one of the “Stars of the Week” by the Boston Herald, and as one of the “Players of the Week” by the Boston Globe for his 154 yards and two touchdowns in the non-League win.

Barnstable football has a new online store for shirts, pants, shorts, etc. The team will receive a portion of all sales. We will still have merchandise at all home games.

Huge Win for the Red Raiders over #4 Xaverian!!
It was a soggy, but exciting night for Barnstable last night, as they pulled out an amazing upset. Check out the coverage of the big win in the Boston Globe and Boston Herald!
9/7/19 JV & Freshmen Games Cancelled
Due to the impending storm the JV & Freshmen games for Saturday have been cancelled. The Varsity game is still tomorrow at 6. We hope to see you there.

Cheerleading Team Dinners

Schedule for the week of September 1st
The home opener is in five days! This will be an exciting, but busy week for the Red Raider Family. Here are some schedule notes to keep everyone in the loop:
Tuesday- The QBC will meet in the junior/senior cafeteria at the high school at 6:30. The group will prep for the home opener and will discuss other business.
Thursday– The varsity team will gather at the Burkes’ house in West Barnstable for a Varsity Team Dinner (Time TBA)
Friday- Home Opener against Xaverian!! The game starts at 6:00, but we need help with snack bar set-up, merchandise, and other assorted odd jobs. If you are able to help with set-up or at the snack bar/merchandise table during the game, please sign up here:
Saturday- The freshmen and JV players will host Xaverian at 10:00 and 12:00 respectively. If you are able to help at the snack bar, please sign up here:

August 27, 2019 — Barnstable High School Head Varsity Football Coach Ross Jatkola announced today the names of the players who have been selected as Captains for the 2019 Red Raiders. The six seniors selected are; #5 TE/LB Harry Lanman, #8 QB/CB Nick Wilson, #10 TE/DE Colby Burke, #23 RB/LB Brian Frieh, #68 OL/DL Alex “Salad” Saladino and #73 OL/DL Declan Moriarty.
