2017 Red Raider Varsity and Junior Varsity Cheerleading Award Recipients

The Barnstable High School Red Raider Varsity Cheerleading Squad

Varsity Cheerleading Coach Rachel McDougall and Junior Varsity Coach Kylee Youmans announced the following 2017 Barnstable High School award recipients for excellence in cheerleading at the Annual Awards Banquet held on December 10th at the Knight’s Auditorium.

VARSITY AWARDS

Most Deicated Award — Tia Noonan

  • This award is given annually to the most dedicated cheerleader on the Varisty Squad.

Most Improved — Aaliyah Roderick

  • This award is given annually to the cheerleader whose skills developed most markedly throughout the season.

Rookie of the Year — Samantha Vanlieu

  • This award is given annually to the squad’s most accomplished first-year cheerleader.

MVP (Most Valuable Cheerleader) — Emmé Capra

  • This award is given annually for excellence in cheerleading exemplary and essential to the overall performance of the squad.

 Coach’s Award — Tanaya Taylor

  • This award is given annually for excellence in cheerleading and squad leadership

Old Colony League Award for Sportsmanship in Cheerleading — Katelynn Tivey

  • This award is presented by the Old Colony League to a BHS Cheerleader in recognition of exemplary sportsmanship

JUNIOR VARSITY AWARDS

Most improved — Caline Halbert

  • This award is given annually to the cheerleader whose skills developed most markedly throughout the season.

MVP (Most Valuable Cheerleader) — Asia Barbel

  • This award is given annually for excellence in cheerleading exemplary and essential to the overall performance of the squad.
